Concrete Pipe Seminar

CAAL’s Concrete Pipe Seminar Series focuses on concrete pipe specifications, design and installation as well as Engineering Ethics.  We will review the necessary steps to successfully use concrete pipe in storm sewer and culvert applications.  Lunch will be provided.

Program Schedule:

9:00am  Introductions and Overview

9:15am   LADOTD Standards and Specifications - Learn which standards and specifications LADOTD references for design and installation of both rigid and flexible piping products.

9:45am   Rigid/Flexible Pipe Design - Get familiar with the design aspects for both rigid and flexible pipe, what you need to know on LADOTD requirements and how the two design methods compare.

10:30am   Break

10:45am   Rigid and Flexible Pipe Installation - A properly installed pipe should remain in service for 50 to 100 years with little or no repair. This class promotes solid understanding of installation, specifications, design requirements and material differences for pipe systems.  Empower your staff with the ability to properly inspect, design, install and accept both flexible and rigid pipe systems.

11:30am   Post Installation Inspection (PII) - It’s in the owner’s best interest to know that allpipes in their system have been properly installed and were not damaged such that the pipe system is not compromised. Post installation inspection provides the owner the information needed to determine whether proper installation occurred proper to project close-out or final acceptance.

12:15pm   Lunch and Jeopardy! (A class assessment takes place midway through the training to reinforce the training completed.  The alternative learning approach is interactive.)

1:00pm   Ethics - This session will review state and national requirements in regards to engineering ethics, penalties and sanctions that may be imposed for ethics violations and case studies of ethics investigations.

2:00pm   Final Questions and dismissal.

Cost:   $50 Members     $75 Non-members

Fee will be waived for all government employees
